Bancroft is aiming for a mid-June finish to Phase 2 of the Main Street Makeover Project.
The work, taking place on Hastings Street, between the Scotiabank and Station Street intersection, has led to slow-moving traffic downtown since early April. But Bancroft General Manager Andra Kauffeldt says construction is now in the final stages.
She says, in the coming days, crews will still be there to work on amenity strips and other touch ups. And, by the last week of May, they will begin taking down temporary light poles and installing new permanent ones.
The roughly $4-million project is also leading to new asphalt, gutters and sidewalks on the downtown strip and is part of a broader town revitalization plan.
