LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A dump truck caused significant damage Wednesday when it crashed into a traffic pole in south Lincoln, police say.
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 56th Street and Old Cheney Road.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue said the truck's brakes gave out, so to avoid a pileup, the driver swerved off the road.
The truck hit a traffic light pole, which had $75,000 in damage, police said. The dump truck had about $60,000 in damage.
The driver of the dump truck was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
