Such poles are very heavy and even though the pole fell on the car, there are no signs of the pillars crumbling under the heavy weight.

The pictures show that the impact left major damage on the XUV700. The front end of the XUV700 is heavily damaged and multiple parts from the vehicle fell down on the road. Even the bumper came out completely while the crash bar crumpled all the way too.

The exact reason for the car going out of control remains unknown. However, it was a new car and we can still have the ribbons on the bonnet. There were three passengers travelling in the car at the time of the accident and all three of them came out safely. Even after the high-speed crash, the pillars of the car are intact, which saved the passengers from any kind of injury.

The new blockbuster SUV from Mahindra had bagged the ‘Safer Choice’ award from Global NCAP for its excellent performance in the crash tests conducted by the agency. Mahindra XUV700 became the second Mahindra car in history to get a complete five-star rating. The SUV received the crash test ratings in accordance with the previous rules, which did not include a side crash test.

Global NCAP was awarded a five-star rating after the Mahindra XUV700 scored 16.03 out of a total of 17 points. The car's structure is also rated as stable. The crash test also found that the potential injuries to the front passengers also remain marginal. The car also received the highest points ever for a child safety rating when it was tested. It scored 41.66 out of a maximum of 49, the highest for any made-in-India car. The bodyshell and the footwell area of the Mahindra XUV700 were rated as stable.

This combined score achieved by XUV700 is the highest among all the cars tested in Global NCAP's ‘Safer Cars For India’ campaign. Due to this excellent performance, the XUV700 was awarded a full 5-star rating. Interestingly, the Scorpio-N received a higher score than the XUV700 and was tested with the new protocols, which are much stricter compared to before.
