Motorcyclist dies after crashing into car, light pole in Manteca

A motorcycle rider suffered fatal injuries after a crash in Manteca on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

According to the Manteca Police Department, the crash occurred at Louise and Hacienda avenues at approximately 3:48 p.m.

A 40-year-old man riding a motorcycle crashed, at high speed, into a car turning from Louise Avenue to Hacienda Avenue, police said. The rider continued past the initial collision and crashed into a light pole, knocking it down.

Officials said the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police identified the car driver as a 19-year-old male from Manteca who was traveling with a passenger.

The crash remains under investigation.
